Application Submission: Prospective Families typically complete an application form providing personal information, living conditions, and experience with pets. This helps Denver Dogos understand the Family’s lifestyle and suitability.
Interview: Many organizations conduct an interview—either in-person or via phone—to discuss the application details, clarify expectations, and ask about the Family's ability to care for a Dogo, including time commitment, training plans, and financial preparedness.
Home Visit: We do require a home visit to assess the environment where the Dogo will live. The visit evaluates safety, space, and whether the home is conducive to the Dogo’s needs.
Reference Checks: References, often from veterinarians or personal contacts, are checked to verify the adopter’s responsibility and previous experience with pets.
Meet and Greet: Denver Dogo introduces the Dogo puppy to observe interaction and assess compatibility. This step is crucial to ensure the puppy’s temperament matches the adopter’s expectations.
Adoption Agreement: Once approved, the Family signs a contract outlining their responsibilities, such as providing proper care, veterinary visits, and not rehoming the puppy without notifying Denver Dogo.
